Which iwata lph 80 to buy?

I would like to get a smaller gun for tighter spaces like door jams and door internals and see the iwata lph 80 gets great reviews. What I can’t find is which nozzle/tip to get as they have a bunch of options. I’m thinking of the 124g which has the new wide pattern #4 air cap and a 1.2 nozzle. They also sell the same gun and cap with a 1.0 nozzle (104g). Anyome have any reccos as to which one to buy to shoot epoxy primer as well as base-coat and clear? Thanks!

I suppose if you want to use it for epoxy, base and clear probably the 1.2. I have the Iwata 50 with the side cup and a 1.0 nozzle but I use it for when an airbrush isn't big enough. It can be turned way down and up to a small fan. Never used it for epoxy or clear.
Some here who have the lph 80 will be able to answer the questions more accurately.

Both. What I did. Another get from the Barry franchise days.
I actually will have to look to remember but 'I think' the needle works for either set and you just need the other set.
If you plan on Epoxy,Clear, primer then the 1.2 is the one and can always be turned down.
The 1.0 is no slouch BTW and is an awesome spraying machine.
The only downside is it's physical size which is on the slinder side. Not exactly a 'handfull' of gun but no deal breaker.

The Lph80 is circled. Left is a HF Purple hvlp mini and Right is a Satajet 3 mini.

I have an 80 with a 1.0 and both the std and wide fan cap. I have had it for alotnof yers. I also have 3 sata minijets. Would i buy an 80 again…prob not. Im not a huge fan of it. In a 1.2 it would be better for sure. Also dont get one unless it has a wide fan cap. The std fan cap is at best at 2” wide. The wide cap is more a normal fan size. As mike said, its small in size. To me its more like a large airbrush.my hands are small and only 4 fingers fit on the handle. For an actual mini spray gun, the sata falls more in that category and its more ergonomic and solid. If you want a tiny gun then the 80 with 1.2 and wide fan my be a good choice, otherwise go sata

I was going to get the 100 but this was right before the 80 came out. Still wasn't sure if I could contend with that sideways cup though. Little different for sure. I have the HF version and that thing sucked period. Not because of the cup but just a piece of crap but got the idea of it which I really didn't like either. Barry was basically giving away Iwata's and loaded up on Them.
It's the Same needle for either nozzle.
Yes the E4 Air Cap is the Best. It has atomization holes,1 per side,of the nozzle opening where as the standard cap with the 1.0 has none which is basically a Big Airbrush.
For the Money,or more money you can't beat It really. And IMO, with the 1.2,E4 cap is a great setup.
I just appreciate the Simplicity of Iwata's which equates to ease of cleaning, longevity and Parts.
Whatever you get, don't waste your money on a Finex. The Green one left of the HF is THE Biggest POS excuse for a spray gun I've Ever owned.and it wasn't cheap either.

I have both, the 124g and 104g. I use the124g on complete bumper covers and smaller panels regularly. They save a ton of material.

Mine is the 1.2 e4 cap. I think it’s a great gun for its purpose. Some people says it’s too small or too precise so to say. For me that’s the entire point of a mini gun. Any more and I’ll bump up to my lph. Works great for me.
