WHAT TO SPRAY OVER 1990'S FORD WRECKER GRILL

I am getting ready to paint a 1990's Ford wrecker for my friend and he wants the plastic grill painted also, Do I use adhesion promoter or just scuff and spray with epoxy?
 
I sprayed one last year and scuffed everywhere real good, used epoxy and basecleared it. No problems at all.
 
I didn't use any adhesion promoter when I sprayed the plastic grille. Just make sure sanded well, cleaned well, enough time for any cleaner to evaporate, Epoxy, then paint.
