WHAT LUBE FOR AIR TOOLS?

None, in anything like DA's or air grinders, just a couple drops every once in a while in air ratchets and impacts. If your air is clean, they'll last without it.

yes, never anything in grinders or sanders. grinders i buy cheaper ones. sanders i buy good ones. a good da like dynabrade or 3m will run for years without oil

everytime i clean the shop and find in some dark corner bottle with oil for airtools, i go and drop 4-5 drops in each da and grinder. usually that happens once a year

I guess I'm one of the few that oils all my stuff regularly. Been doing it for years. I've seen no issues from it. If you have a traditional straight line sander oil in one of those is fairly essential for it to work halfway decently. There is a fill hole on those. Little angle die grinders need grease or they die real quick. If you decide to use oil just a drop and do that fairly regularly. If you wipe down your work before primer, etc. it shouldn't be an issue. Stick with straight petroleum based stuff. Nothing with silicone or exotic additives in it.

i use to hate wd40 until i found out it was fish oil . but i dont oil tools much . even my sander only get a little if any .
the price of a tool is cheap compared to a contaminated job . i buy bargain basement tools . they last as long as my high dollar ones did .

There are at least two of us here.
I bought a quart bottle of air tool oil 30 years ago, can't remember the brand at the moment, and 2 drops per tool every couple of months is all it takes.

I do grease my small grinders with the special made grease gun, but it doesn't sling it out. I've seen the oil splatter on filler before, and it scared me. Since then, I just quit using it and haven't noticed any difference in tool life.
