What is the best way to prepare sandblasted sheet metal for SPI epoxy?

I am going to be sandblasting my car with StarBlast media. ( Black Beauty Sand).

After I have achieved a blasted surface, what steps are required to get the sheet metal ready to epoxy prime?

Thank you all for any answers and advice.

There is an answer on here somewhere from shine and I believe JimC. If i remember right it's soaked in 700 and or 710 then dried with air hose. Helps in keeping the lint out.

Blow it off good with compressed air and shoot the epoxy. If you know you touched the metal with your bare hands, then you can spray some W&G remover heavy to rinse that area and then blow that off with compressed air.

I would da with 80 grit well and finish by hand with 80 or maybe a red scotch pad. Wash with wb wax and remover and blow dry then wait 30 min. and make sure the metal is good and warm then shoot. Good luck.

Why would you sand a freshly blasted surface that gives excellent adhesion as is? What are you trying to accomplish? Scotchbrite will leave snags behind that are hard to remove.

starglast leaves an 80 grit tooth. little to no media embedded in the surface . hand scuff will be sufficient . never trust the air and media to be clean .

I like the primer to lay down a little slicker. The 80 does that for me. The red pad will fuzz up.

Starblast and Black beauty are two different things. Starblast is is garnet where black beauty is usually coal slag or boiler slag with metal mixed in. Pretty much a one and done media to be used outdoors on grafitti and such.

I just blasted the doors, hood, trunk lid with dustless blasting, and applied the water based anti-rust (not acid). I called SPI, told them what i was using and they said after blasting hit real quick with 80 grit DA. then tack clothes, then oil and grease remover. One thing I did not notice is letting the oil and grease remover sit for 30-60 minutes. It might have gotten 20 minutes. hopefully that wont be an issue.
