What causes the gun to spit

My techno prolife has started spitting a little, not all the time. It does it with all materials, not just heavy primers. I know it's a seal and will change the all, but what specifically causes this so I can understand what goes on in the gun.

Next question is where is the best place to buy seals?

Thanks

but what specifically causes this so I can understand what goes on in the gun. Thanks

It's probably sucking some air instead of paint by way of a seal or connection.
I had a fluid nozzle not seating do that.
Also, air coming out of the cap causes a little suction of the fluid,
so the cap openings need to be clear also.
Sometimes it's just dirt in the cap or around the fluid needle.
Lots of possibilities. Good luck, you'll figure it out.

There's a black cover that the fluid tip fits into. Behind that is a white gasket. You can see it. Wiggle the cover off and inspect the white gasket. They tend to get misshapen and causes problems.

If you have not done it before, tighten the packing where the fluid needle inters the gun housing. As it wears and becomes loose air can be sucked in there and cause bubbles that will spit out while you are painting. If you get it too tight the gun trigger will get tight and drag.

Always lube that area with gun lube or mineral oil. Just a dab or two. Do it each time you finish cleaning your gun. On guns equipped with a seal there, doing so will ensure longer life. Not doing so can cause the seal to fail much earlier. Failure in that area is one of the main causes of spitting if everything else is good, clean, and tight.

not sure what kind of spitting its doing but a needle that is dirty on the tip causing it not to seal and completely shut off the flow of paint will cause a spit also but usually only when you first pull the trigger for air. small amt of paint leaks by and a drip builds on the nozzle then you pull the trigger and the air blows it off usually onto what your getting ready to spray.

Mp, everything is right, but thanks John, that's something I've never checked. I,all look at it tomorrow.
