What’s the best spray cup system to prevent drips in the paint?

I use aluminum cups with a blue shop towel taped over the lid/vent hole to prevent drips, and it keeps the lid from coming off when the cup is full and you're holding the gun sideways. Sata lids lose their grip over time, once you find that out the hard way you buy new lids and take extra precautions.
One redo due to drips will pay for a lot of an enclosed system.

I do the same as Astro, except I don't even use the towel. With My Sata's I just tape the lid in two directions and go. Doing collision, thousands of jobs that way and no leaks.

I've tried 3M PPS but the resistance of the liner collapsing slows paint flow, especially as it gets closer to running out.
Not sure the gun you used but harbor freight sells aluminum cups that fit lph400, and they have screw on plastic lids!

The first good gun I purchased was my faithful Devilbiss hvlp FLG2 finishline (still one of the best ever) that came with these different black plastic adapters, a long, pointed plastic 'stick and some unique plastic bags. Insert the adapter in to the cup outlet, get the 'stick, attach these little clear plastic adapters and stab these thru the middle of the bag bottom and shove that into the cup adapter, remove the 'stick, fill with product ,seal the baggie up and put the cup lid back on if you wanted and spray. Turn the cup upside-down with the air disconnected, pull the trigger to empty the gun and pull the bag out. No product except what was in the gun and a dab in the cup.
It was the first such disposable system I ever knew of and I still use it today on primers and such.
Not something you would use making a living everyday painting but really handy and cheap.
I know one thing, you spray some SPI Red base in an aluminum bare cup,you WILL use some lacquer thinner cleaning it out. That color is Brutal.
Which is what my waste can is for. The initial washout then the virgin thinner to a final reducer spritz from my squeeze bottle which is a large, yellow mustard bottle with the twist top. No more, "Where the h*#$ DID That top go?"

yep sure can

Thanks you. I spray painted the underside of the drip rails with the final 2 coats of epoxy yesterday. Purging the PPS 2.0 liner was a piece of cake. Not to say I wasn't a bit nervous doing it for fear of the liner tearing and dumping paint everywhere but, it worked flawless.
