Waterbourne W & G Remover

R

Ricker

I did some rust repair on the wheel wells of my truck, welded in a patch panel, and applied some Duraglass filler and then some Evercoat Rage Gold over that. Got it sanded down and want to put a couple coats of SPI epoxy over it then spray some SPI high build over this and block (repeating until it blocks straight). Cover this with some more epoxy before basecoat. I now find out I should have started with the epoxy first then the filler but I have the filler work done. Want to know how to clean the rest of the bed and over the filler work before spraying the epoxy, can I wipe down with a rag with the waterbourne w&g remover then wipe again with a clean dry paper towel, let sit for awhile before spraying the epoxy. I was told to never use solvent w&g remover on filler work, because it softens it, etc. What about using waterbourne???

You're fine using the waterborne W&G, after the cleaning just give the surface a little time to breathe before you shoot your epoxy-this way you won't trap any cleaner in the filler. Epoxy under the filler is definitely the best way.

Ok, thanks. I was thinking to give the bed a good wipe down with the waterbourne cleaner, wipe dry with lint free towels and let it sit overnight. Next day, blow off with air and wipe down with a tac cloth, then spray a couple coats of epoxy.
