I've been lurking for over a year but credit all of my painting knowledge to this site and it's members after spraying several gallons of SPI expoxy and clear. I've done all overs but never any repairs or blending. I just shot a an old Scout for a friend with 3 coats of UV-turned out great! The friend was wetsanding before buffing and cut through the clear on the bottom of the door edge. I prepped and blended base just in the burn through areas and reshot the whole door in two more coats of clear. Looks fantastic.
Fast forward a few week-mounted the door back on the Scout this weekend and the door now shows a very subtle mismatch now. The vehicle color is a light baby blue. It almost appears very slightly more yellow now. Again, most would probably never see it but it's noticeable to my eye. FYI the buffing/sheen is the same between the fenders and doors. Also the clear came from the same batch.
What did I do wrong? Any fixes? The only "non rational thought" I have is to wetsand the leading and trailing edges of the door(maybe 6 inches on each side to cut down the film thickness and manually "blend" the color? Horrible idea I'm pretty certain?
