Urethane Primer question

So what would be the reasons for using regular vs high build vs turbo? I'm getting ready to start final block sanding and am guessing I will need to build at some point. Just trying to determine the best product to buy. Here are a couple pictures where I'm at.

high build here. i have used regular build and it likes to spray very dry and gritty even with a big tip. the high build sprays really nice and slick compared to reg build. i find it much more comparable to other majors premium primers. i have used turbo and it sprays well from what i remember but it was a really long time ago.

I've used all three.:) My preference is either Turbo or HiBuild. Regular would be my least favorite due to how it sprays.

I used to spray it with a 1.8 tip but now using a 2.0. This is two coats of the regular 2k primer with a third coat to follow.
So would the High Build lay down better than this? I have considered trying it but haven't taken the plunge yet.

That looks good. My experience, the regular build is probably my least favorite SPI product. I've sprayed it with a 1.8 and a 2.0. 2.0 was marginally better but still not great. Nothing inherently wrong with it but it doesn't spray well compared to other 2K urethane primers. Jim C described it well. The Turbo and the Hi-Build spray much nicer. Try either and you will notice the difference.

kinda hard to tell from the picture. i always spray it with an hvlp 1.9 sata primer gun. its not so much not being able to lay it down slick where you are spraying. its the overspray that leaves a grit all over everything so it makes the primer you already sprayed gritty and the areas that have not been primed yet get primer over the grit that is all over the surface and nothing melts together. the hb primer sprays out like its clearcoat

Word I would use to describe it is HB and Turbo spray "wetter". HB would be my preferred because it builds more per coat than Turbo. But Turbo is nice as well just not as much build.

I recently started using the regular primer again on some quick work I needed to get out. I can only get it to lay out nice if I reduce it 4:1:.5-1

I too always add some reducer to regular build now, it makes it lay down a lot smoother. Unreduced it gets all these tiny little pinholes in the surface that need extra blocking to get smooth.

Same here will add some reducer as I like to spray regular 2K wet so it flowes in to any scracthes not just bridges over them. like Turbo the best.
