Milton sold his ultra-rare 1969 SPI Judge for $682,000 yesterday and it's kind of sad the economy is what it is because about 3 years ago he turned down $750,000 for this same '69 Judge.

This particular car was painted with all Southern Polyurethanes products back in the early 2000's at Jerry Williams shop with Black SPI Epoxy, Black SPI Turbo Primer and Black SPI Base (now discontinued).

FWIW - This was our very first "test" gallon of Black SPI Base.

This particular GTO was painted with 3 coats of SPI MS Clear, wet sanded with 800 grit then 3 more coats of SPI MS Clear.

This car was first shown at the GTO Nationals in Ohio last year where it won Gold Class.

Milton sold around 55 cars yesterday and the auction brought in $9.2 million. goat2.jpg

not bad for bathtub junk huh...................... :)

i still get a laugh every time that stupid lushdrunk makes a post.

It was either 55 -58 cars, all kept in a heated and air conditioned House, not garage, nicer them most houses, oh yea his house and garage is also for sale for a sum of 22million. (pocket change for JimC)

Did you see his 57 fuelie vette, as I understand, only two points were deducted in judging. Milton had, no junk.

Best part is a lot of these cars had SPI on them and Sikens or PPG base, one had enamel used to kill the shine but that one was not in top 10 and is green.

$300.00

Bought my GTO new in 1968 for $3,300.00. Sold it in 1976 for $300. It was never in an accident but it had some rear quarter rust and bondo-repaired backlite. In '76 few Floridians wanted a gas guzzler with no A/C. My upstate New York car had no A/C (only options were AM radio, automatic with dual-gate Hurst shifter and power steering). How times change...68 GTO.jpg

Wow, that kind of money is testament to a perfect paint job...congrats....also says that BLACK SHOULD BE BROUGHT BACK!!!!!!LOL

Yeah, if we only knew back then what we know today. I bought a 66 GTO 389 4 speed for $125 and sold it a month later for $250 and thought I had made a great deal doubling my money. LOL

Dang, that's major bucks! And to think i used the MS on a Corolla...priceless. :)

I would think you could get a Few hundred thousand for the Corolla, as long as you did not, use any off the wall stuff on it like PPG, Dupont or BASF! LOL

There are two paragraphs written and three photos of the Robson GTO in the February 2011 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines; page 83.

Just added two pictures, I have a bunch more at home but man still learning this picture down load stuff and I'm not real swift.
Can't seem to control where the pictures end up, top bottom and all over.

This isn't the same car (black interior, hidden headlights and RAM Air IV on the SPI Judge). It'll be interesting to see how much a similar car sells for. Obviously it should sell for way more if it's got MAJOR paint.

It's going up for sale at Kissimmee, FL (Mecum Auction). Scheduled to go on the block January 29, 2011 at 7:15 PM. Looks like it might be on live Discovery TV that evening.

Looks like it could be a lemans conversion from the picture. Ramair four heads will bring $20,000 by themselves.

The panel alignment doesn't look very good and gloss doesn't look all that great, but maybe it was done like that for originality. Does the wheel offset look right?-I know they made quite a few different Rally wheels-had a tough time finding some 67 Bird wheels once.

SEE! Those cars probably were not painted with SPI, probably some off the wall paint like PPG, Dupont. LOL
