Turbo over SPI epoxy

I'm gonna shoot SPI epoxy, then turn around and put turbo over that. How long do I need to let epoxy flash before I go over it w turbo.
I think I know but want to confirm with long time users.

What would be the consequence of not waiting enough, I'm a little new to epoxy and don't know the reactions it can give.

The Turbo would trap solvents in the epoxy and you'd get severe cracking when it dries.

I've seen it happen when people spray the epoxy too heavy even with 'one' coat. I've seen it under the hood where the braces are when people overlap the epoxy and they still consider that as a single coat.

The trapping of solvents would also affect the adhesion of the epoxy. I've done it before, applied filler too quickly over epoxy. Then when I sand the filler the epoxy tears rather than featheredges as you are sanding.

Chris, what did you do about this? I may have a similar situation.

Hi Chris, quick question regarding the turbo over epoxy. When using spi epoxy as a sealer before paint does the same wait period apply? Overnight? I thought I read to apply paint after the flash period. Thanks.

I had to strip everything and start over.

Here is what the Tech Manual says,
" To use the epoxy as a paint sealer, reduce it 5-50% with the proper temperature range
urethane reducer (this is very important) and spray with your base/clear gun. Spray one
wet coat ONLY, let it sit 2 hours then apply paint. For sealing of a potential problem
paint job, apply two coats of epoxy with proper flash times between coats and let it sit
over night before painting.
Remember, reducing epoxy speeds up the cure time, so when mixed as a sealer the best
application of base is within 2-18 hours (no sanding is needed within this time frame)."
