Hi all . My cousin who is an excellent body tech who works at a Mercedes collision center just did a small side repair in my shop. Trained in his home land of Italy and as said excellent master craftsman BUT a wild man in the paint ( he is not a painter ) !!! He will mix anything he gets his hands on and starts spraying.
Any way on this repair Wanda base and then I had some Glasurit Clear 923-109 mixes 2:1 he used Limco clear lc4000 hardner mixes 4:1 in the Glasurit clear. I asked him how did you mix? " I don't know maybe 3:1 just mix and spray Very nicea for me" . Just curious will this work?? By the way car has been out 3 weeks and looks great. If that was me it would have jelled up or never have dry. Good thing he didn't get to my SPI Euro clear!!

I suppose only time will tell
I could never get that lucky either! Kinda makes you wonder why anyone would go through all the work to get it ready for paint and then play junior chemist with the clearcoat. I suppose we all get similar end results even though our methods vary.

You can use any hardener you want at any ratio and clear will harden.
But if the OH/NCO is off and it will be by a mile, that is where it will show up with time.
My rough guess with the rough estimate of what he did, is he is about 100/.70= and a lot of the private label and low grade off the wall clears are 100/.70-.85 to cut costs, where they should be min 100/100 but good companies will be 100/1.10-1.15.
Every 4:1, 2:1, 3:1 activator is different then the next to match its own clear.
