SPI reducer / Prospray base.

Can I use SPI urethane reducer with Prospray base instead of the Prospray reducer?

Also, the Prospray website seems to have been changed looks like they may have been bought out. Anybody have any knowledge of what's going on with it?

I have a half gallon of base that I bought about a year ago and am going to need another gallon. I hope they haven't changed the paint.

Really? I thought Prospray was fairly well liked around here?

In any case, can I use the SPI reducer in it?

Prospray was bought out a few years back, the quality went downhill when that happened.

I had planned to use it but ran across a thread on here some time ago that discussed the changes, I never went any further researching it.

Its very sad that these companies buy a company because they are taking their business and the first thing they do is start dumbing it down.
Prospray originally was same as ICI and that was second to none, period.

Interesting that this came up today. i went into Home Depot to buy some Gliddon paint today for my front porch. The sales person at the counter ask me when was the last time I used Gliddon. I replied it had been a good while but I always liked it.

The Gentleman said he could, and would, sell me the Gliddon but thought I would be dissapointed with it. I asked why and he said PPG had bought Gliddon and it had gone down hill ever since.....One more example of the same old story.

I bought the Behr he recommended and am very pleased with how well it has covered and how far it is going.

There was a time I would have argued until the cows came home for PPG but doubt I will ever buy a PPG product again. Price going up and quality going down gets old real fast.

i see lots of paint people don't use but what are some paints that are being used for old restorations.
i already had bought pro spray but i'm not in habit of throwing away 400.00

The base is still a great base just thinned down some from what i see, where I use to say it was Superior to Deltron now i would classify it as tit for tat.
