If it looks like a bag of walnuts. And, you don't plan to do any corrective metal work. Polyester primer. It really comes down to the quality of work, and your film build requirements. I personally try to avoid polyester primer.

Poly will build faster with fewer coats. Epoxy will need multiple rounds over several days for the equivalent build. Epoxy will cost more to build. In my experience with both I think that guys working in their garage on weekends are better off using poly due to the epoxy timing requirements. Both give decent results in my experience.

There is anecdotal evidence that poly chips more easily but that has not been my experience when applied in the appropriate recoat window.

My poly experience has been with Clausen primers only.

I'm a poly user, either Clausen or Evercoat Superbuild are my go to primers. We build nothing but high level restorations, the epoxy as filler primer is just too slow and I haven't ever had any issues with poly. I think Super Build is the best poly out there, one thing I don't want in my shop is 2k Urethane primers. If you don't have 30 days + to let them dry out it will bite you in the rear.
