SPI on Interior Parts

So the Dart's rear interior panels are large (convertible to cover the mechanisms) and beat up. I used some GM Turquoise OER rattle can interior dye on the kick panels and was not impressed. The color was not bad but the durability stinks, look at it wrong and it scratches right off. What would happen if I used Motobase and UC with some flattener in it (I have a golden 1/2 quart left). Would there be any concerns?

I think starting with the proper bond would be the key detail here after cleaning.
I once used Dad's easy spray paint remover from Ace Hardware or Wal Mart to clean off old rattle can interior paint done by others . Pour in spray bottle & spray on & it gels up. Not near as nasty as most strippers. Didn't bother plastic.
A good scrubbing with dawn, then either flame treat plastic or possibly adhesion promoter & then epoxy. Conditions (plastic type) & opinions vary on what's needed for prep before epoxy, but a proper surface to bite to would even help out the rattle can crap if adhesion is the issue. Real paint would be fine also after proper prep & prime.
Did you give a really good cleaning & ad-pro the first time??
