SPI epoxy primer as an engine paint?

If SPI epoxy primer will hold up to normal engine temperatures, then I would like to use it on my 1965 SBC 283.
Chevy painted the 283 gray in 1965 but nobody makes the correct gray in a high temp paint. I want to tint the SPI epoxy primer a few shades darker to get the correct color gray.
No point in doing this if the primer can’t take the heat from the engine.

I would venture to say a roof sitting in the hot sun will get as hot as your engine. Engine really doesn't get THAT hot, it does stay below boiling.

Since posting my question, I’ve used the search function and found a few threads mentioning using SPI epoxy primer on an engine block. It seems everyone recommends a thin coat of primer. I will apply a clear coat over the primer for a glossy finish. I’ll tint the epoxy primer to get the correct color gray.
