SPI Epoxy / Glasurit Compatibility

I plan on SPI epoxy, filler, more epoxy, then I want to switch to Glasurit 285-60 Primer for blocking. ( I blocked a lot of this in a previous life and was Very impressed by it.)

If someone could compare the blocking ability of SPI 2K with the 285-60 I would entertain the SPI 2K as a primer filler.

will this combination be acceptable?

If so Is it best to apply the Glasurit wet on wet with the SPI or should the SPI dry for a period of time then be sanded?

It's best to test an unknown material combination before shooting a large area. I'm sure the Glasurit primer is compatible, but the more time you leave between applications, the safer you are. Typically if I apply two full coats of epoxy, any other coating would go on the next morning. But if you want to go fast, reduce the epoxy and you can apply your next coating much sooner. Just keep in mind that the recoat window of SPI epoxy is seven days, so no need to rush. Wet on wet is typically used when epoxy is mixed as a sealer for paint. I don't know if you have checked out the tech manual, but there should be a link to it in my sig below.

Thanks for this as you cleared it up with the more time between is typically safer comment. I mentioned wet on wet as I did not realize more time is safer.

I don’t need to go that fast unless required by the compatibility of the products.
