Should I buy an Iwata LPH400?

Remember the gun is only as good as the guy operating it.
I have used the Silver Cap for epoxy primer, base, sealer, single stage, solids, metallics and clear coat. If adjusted right it will handle all of them with no problems.

This is a tri-stage blue spruce pearl paint shot with the Silver Cap:

This is a tri stage Golden White Pearl on a front and rear bumper repair. This was the first time I had to match and blend paint.

My point is, don't sell the Silver Cap short just because somebody else had trouble painting with it.

I also have a Tekna Copper with the 7E7 1.3 and 1.4 caps. It is an excellent gun as well, I just seem to reach for the LPH400 out of habit.
My plan is to use the Tekna on my current project, a 2000 Dodge Dakota, in preparation for my '68 GTX.

go to the iwata forum . Hub can get you dialed in on the gun real quick . it is absolutely a whole other world of spraying . it was hell on this old hillbilly to slow down and get deliberate.

I love my lph’s. I find a orange cap could do everything well. I’m coming more from a collision side though. Orange cap I find easy to match factory texture with.

I hadn't painted since before base coat/clear coat was invented. I tried a SATA but felt like I was pushing myself to keep up with the gun. Bought the LPH400 with a silver cap, use the 1.3 nozzle for epoxy sealer and base, 1.4 for epoxy primer and clear. I find it matches my methodical (slow-ass) spraying style better than the SATA did. Never tried the orange or purple caps, I find the silver cap works fine with the metallic I'm shooting. So far any of the issues I've had have been my fault, not the gun's but I'm nowhere near outperforming the equipment LOL. I also have the LPH440 for 2k primer and an LPH80 for small parts.

my opinion is worth what you paid for it...
