Sharpe Titanium T1 - Fluid needle packing replacement

I have a "new" Sharpe titanium T1 paint gun that has been in the box(never used) on a shelf for quite some years. Got it out the other day and sprayed some water through it and it is leaking not at the needle but around the holes in the nozzle cap. According to what I have read on troubleshooting this problem and taking it apart, it seems the fluid needle packing is not sealing around the fluid needle. Can't seem to find readily available packing without spending $30-$40 dollars for a "kit". Anybody got a suggestion? Is there a universal or generic fix? Thanks in advance.

Did you try putting some gun lube on it and letting it set a day or so?

The fluid needle packing looks to be some kind of white rubber or plastic (kind of like flexible nylon maybe) the needle is loose inside the packing. Definitely does not look like it would seal. Thanks for the reply Barry.

I eventually shelved my T1 because it would no longer seal right around the seat and cap. I remember having to really crank it tight so it wouldn't bubble the paint in the cup. This made it almost impossible to get the cap off without unscrewing the seat with it. Then the seat would be stuck in the cap and I damaged the threads some getting it out.
I found out later that the Sharpe nozzle gasket must be replaced on a somewhat frequent basis.

I think this is the gasket. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d....oap?ck=Search_N2419_-1_-1&pt=N2419&ppt=C0171
