Sealers: Using Epoxy vs Urethane Sealer

What is the overall opinion on this? This seems to always come up. I thought more people were going back to using epoxy over standard urethane sealers, except maybe in production type atmospheres. Here is one post I see where someone mentions that epoxies are outdated. I hope Barry will chime in, as I thought he told me at one time that etch primers were going away, more so than epoxy. Why aren't etch primers all that great? QUESTION was: Anyone use epoxy for sealer? I keep reading posts by hot rod builders doing this, but when I tried it I had an issue with die back. My paint rep says it will move for 30 days and not recommended. Other.claim they do it because it's bullet proof. What's your opinion? ANSWER: "There are pos and neg to both. For the 2k sealer its easy to spray, you can denib or sand it in 10 minutes, it locks up fast so you can base and candy over it quickly and it fills defects and sanding scratches better. The epoxy doesnt do any of that but the one thing it does do is make awesome adhesion. Your base will bond better and if you have a difficult to prep surface with nooks that you cant get in too good you really dont have to worry too much. Your paint will stick anyway".
