Sata 3000RP plastic?

Are these parts normally plastic on a sata 3000rp? Fluid control knob and fan control knob? They're chrome plated and until the chrome wears off in a spot or two you would prob never notice. Just seems like sata wouldn't cheap out on something like this? Can't get the knob screw loose on the fan control and rather than risk breaking it I removed the assembly for cleaning.

im not sure about the fan control knob but the air control knob you have shown in the bottom pic is definitely plastic on every sata gun i have.
 
Thanks Jim, I was beginning to wonder if I paid 80 bucks (pawn shop) for a rough knock-off! The air control knob is also plastic on this one btw...
 
Got it all cleaned up, had to use some citrus paint remover. Looked good enough I didn't need to use the $75 rebuild kit. Sprays very nice, even found a generic green lid to fit the Sata aluminum cup. Good $80 gun :)
