Sanding grit to finish HB prior to epoxy

I've read and read and read but I still feel unsure.

I have my urethane HB blocked in 180. No sand throughs other than edges or bolt flanges (not highly visible areas).

I was advised to re-prime HB over the 180 scratch and then wetsand.
I ordered 6600 epoxy, reducer, etc. I would like to use the epoxy instead of the HB for this final sanding.

My questions: is the 180 scratch OK to apply the epoxy over?
Reduced or unreduced?

I am trying to follow the "perfect paint job", it didn't mention grits.
I will not be able to paint the car until next spring/summer so I will need to wetsand and seal then.

Thank you for any guidance.

SPI epoxy over 180 is absolutely fine. I would do just as you are planning to. If there is no need for more urethane HB, then don't spray more. Having excess HB on edges, bolts, etc. is definitely something to avoid.

Reducing the epoxy would serve no useful purpose if you are planning to sand it. Spray epoxy straight and start sanding with 220 next spring.

Thank you, I followed the advice. I hammered my first coat and got fisheyes/ swiss cheese. I came back to the forum and searched, found the advice on gun setup and panel cleaning that I'm confident will solve it.

The SPI epoxy is fantastic. It sprays great (when you do it right, lol).

I am blocking out my errors with 320, I can't believe how nice it blocks: Almost like 2k.
