Rusty Gillis
This is something new for us a 95 S10 step side. We are removing the rear step adding metal and a metal roll pan. Brian is working on this when he needs a break from the 65 fastback. It had been sitting for a few days so now we have a little surface rust.

ahhh, step shavers.. I think someone actually makes them.. grant custom maybe? Or maybe the ones i'm thinking of were urethane..
Does look better with the step gone.

The original bed had rust so the owner bought a replacement. We used part of the top right rear on the bottom of the left rear to get the shape of the fender. The hard part is getting it to flow into the roll pan and getting the shape that goes down the side of the body and around the wheel wells.

He bought a set and yes they were plastic and the fit was terrible so he sent them back He thought they were fiberglass when he ordered them. I could have modified the fiberglass.

i didnt want to be a "put downer" but i figured u either hooked the guy, undercharged, or gave him more then what he payed for.... but any "custom" guy is bound to do that now and again. ahhh the passion for the work. very nice job for not having the step shavers to go off of.

The owner bought the roll pan from them and said they did not have the step shavers on the website when he looked and talked to them??
It has been a lot of work fitting the top of one bed to the bottom of the other side and making it look right.

almost there......

grant kustoms is the sheetmetal king in the minitruck world. instead of welding a filler plate on a door, he will make a new skin from scratch. if he didnt have them at the time, he sure would have made them.

anxious to see this one done, maybe it will motivate me to get mine done.. Notice I said.. "MAYBE"
