Rusty, how have you handled Photobucket?

I imagine with so many builds hosted with them you had no choice but to pay the $399.00 yearly fee?

I cannot believe they've done what they have!

i had 10 years of projects in builders corner on streetrodding.com. when the new owner showed up he dumped them all to make more room for his chickenshit car flipping. one of the best sites now not worth visiting .

Wow! That's crap! I built my own server and I am hosting my own stuff now, screw those guys.

I'm waiting till I have more free time to deal with this crap. Once I decide which other free site to choose, I can go back on some forums that allow editing old stuff & put back a few pics.

Well, thumbs up to Dub for our new forum not needing a picture host site, as this is the only site I'm unaffected.

I have posted threads on multiple sites with photos documenting and explaining how to accomplish different aspects of restoring cars. Nearly all of them linked to photos hosted on Photobucket. Now they are all useless and Photobucket is trying force me to pay them to "unlock" my photo links. I will never pay their extortion money, for that is really what this amounts to. Yesterday I began downloading all the albums I have in my Photobucket library just so I don't lose them altogether and soon I will close out my account for good.
Trying to go back and re-link everything to a new site would take weeks or months to do, so basically all those threads are useless now.

They are in the running for most hated company in America. Based on all the ads and now this huge annual fee with no monthly payment option I think they are having cash flow problems. Get your stuff off there while you can...

I went through a similar thing with Imageshack. I have been paying them $2 a month. At first I was just going to let my progress threads go, but I have continued to pay the 2 bucks. I have several hard drives filled with pics of the restorations. Not sure how long I'll keep the threads.

Free time? What is that?

Fee time right now for me can be defined as the time period when you wake up on the couch at between 2 & 5 am after passing out from exhaustion & can't go back to sleep just yet.

Remembered I open a flicker account a couple of years ago. It's a little different to navigate on , but doesn't have all the layers of pop up ads photobucket has had lately.

I just saw this. I asked what plan I had November 2017 and they said I could continue with the $24.95 a year plan. I just looked up their plans and found this. http://photobucket.com/plans/?utm_s...m_campaign=2017-11-06-P20-Legacy-Discontinued
I had given up on ever being to retrieve my 100s of pics after Photobucket held us (it's users) hostage. About a month ago I saw where our accounts had been reinstated as "free". Sure enough, I was able to log on and all my pics are there. I believe Photobucket was threatened with a class action suit.
