I’ve got about a half gallon remaining of SPI black Epoxy that I’ve been using on small sections the past two years to temporarily brush over patches as I get them welded in. This past winter I got back to my garage (N GA Mountains) after being gone a month and find about a pint had leaked out around the can... I had left the can upside down since I usually flip it over every few weeks. I don’t know it got below freezing in our basement garage and the expansion caused the leak or if it just leaked.
So, is it safe to use that epoxy or am I better off just tossing it and getting fresh?
I don’t know if freezing will ruin it, or if part of the content running out has altered the mix of components... I can mix a small batch and try it but I’m not sure how I’ll really know if it’s still good.
If it’s probably still good then I thought I would just use that to pour into the underside of my hood and try to coat the backside of some patches I welded in...
