Repairing my first bumper

Hey guys I was hoping to get some tips on repairing my first plastic front bumper from a Bmw m3, it has some scrapes on the front right bottom corner, it doesn’t look too deep but enough to see the plastic material

I was thinking on doing these steps:

1. Scuff the scrapes with 180grit, the. Fill it with evercoat poly flex

2. Scuff the whole bumper

3. spray adhesion promoter ???

4. spray sealer, base and clear

I’d like to do this correctly, as this is for my personal car, any suggestions ? And is the adhesion promoter necessary?

That area needs to be stripped to the plastic, past where those stress cracks are. 180 damaged area, 320 wet well past the 180 (4-6 inches),clean with 700, adhesion promoter over bare plastic, 2 coats epoxy, wait 24 hrs.,repair scratches (the polyflex is fine), 2-3 more coats of epoxy, wait 24 hrs., sand primered area with 320 dry, then wetsand with 600. Seal, base, and clear

As far as I can tell, the stress cracks in the finish propagate beyond the frame of the image. Damage almost always extends past where people think it does.

Adhesion promoter is certainly necessary.

I’m glad I asked, since I got the steps wrong, so it should be:

1. sand damage areas
2. Spray adhesion promoter on bare plastics
3. Spray 2 coats of epoxy
4. Fill in damage areas and sand whole bumper
5. Spray more epoxy, sand
6. Sealer, base, clear

more steps than I thought lol :) wonder if I could skip step 5?

4. should be fill in damaged areas and spray more epoxy. 5. would be sand whole bumper. You could skip any step you want, but it won't be right :) No flex agent needed when using SPI, they don't even sell any. Another requirement, especially bumpers, is activating the base.
