Best to use a white sealer with white single stage. Especially if aggressively cutting and buffing 3 coats. Learned that lesson on my 69 Camaro. Four coats is better imho.Along the same line of questioning here, sort of. I didn't want to start a new thread.
I have a week old single stage paint that I might repaint. What is the finest grit I can resand it with and have the paint stick? I'll probably go with 600 but I'm curious if it can be finer.
It's in 2000 by hand now. I'll be trying out a new DA and some super buflex 2000-3000 soon and I'm thinking I might get the paint to thin by the time I'm done playing around. Heck sometimes I look at it now and I think I can see the gray primer thru the white paint.
Four wet coats imho. Thanks Don, I originally planned on white sealer but it was hard to see so I went with gray. Live and learn I guess.
4 coats? all wet ones?
Thanks for all the help.
You can mix any of the epoxy sealers to make a custom shade. A very light gray would work for white. Thanks Don, I originally planned on white sealer but it was hard to see so I went with gray. Live and learn I guess.

Keep in mind he’s shooting single stage not base clear. So cutting is actually removing color, unlike base clear. I learned that white single stage needs to be over white sealer if you are going to aggressively cut and buff. Four coats too.You can mix any of the epoxy sealers to make a custom shade.
