HI Guys,
I'm painting some fender flares for a friend which looked like a cut and dry job, scuff and shoot...but when I hit them with compressed air I'm literally blowing the paint off. I'm assuming no adhesion promoter was used or just lack of a good scuffing prior. I blew maybe 60 percent of the paint off of one, and am removing the rest of the paint with 180 on a DA to get every stitch of the paint off. My question is, is this how you guys would approach an issue like this? I figure 180 all the old paint off and get the plastic a good tooth, scuff stuff and scotch brite to clean, then adhesion promoter, 2 coats of epoxy, then take it from there.
as always, thanks for any suggestions!
