Potential filler?

The difference between these gaps is about 1/8 inch. It's on the edge where it meets the bumper. Would that be acceptable for filler? I tried wiggle wire but didn't have enough leverage to move it.

Thanks!

Is it the 1/4 flange in the 3rd pic? If so, can you access it from inside? With that type of flange you can often bump it down from the inside. That being said its not the end of the world if you use some filler.

I was thinking access from inside as well. Worst case maybe first coat with “duraglass” or “all metal” type filler.

Only access was through the trunk. I tried a PDR (paint destroying repair) rod. It moved some but that lower edge won't move. This guy loves this car. Having much filler concerns me.

I was thinking some kitty hair too.
Honestly, I'm just being controlled by my fears. There. I said it.

If you can get a bent rod (no jokes AAE:)) or wood block (old hammer handle works well when you can get it in there), into there you can then tap it with a hammer. That is what I would generally do when encountering something like that. That and the stud gun. That being said 1/8 filler on that bottom edge isn't the end of the world. It would only show if the car got hit there again.

I’ve even put a bunch of studs as close as I can together and put a frame clamp on them and used a pogo stick before. Usually if I’m helping someone else at there place. My place I can just weld tabs/plates on etc and pull if needed.

If having to use more filler than most of us would like to admit to , particularly near an edge or a body line that could get hit hard enough to chip, vette panel adhesive is pretty hard & tough compared to poly fillers, but sands reasonably easy. I'd prefer it over all these glass based fillers.
