Post you SPI Red photos here please

Here's my first photo contribution of an SPI red project. First time user of this base coat paint. I was very pleased overall. It's a great red, and hard to beat the price. Reminds me of GMs Victory Red. I thought it laid down well. I shot both base and clear with a Sharpe Platinum with 1.3 tip. Shop temps were 80-85. Seemed to have good coverage -- general hiding with 2 wet coats but put down a 3rd anyway. Three coats of Universal Clear followed. Will post more of this one when fully painted.

Love the color on that cab. More details on the project?

The project is a '41 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. It's a resto-rod project-- 5 yrs. now into the build. Should have it fully painted and assembled by this Fall. Here's a picture from an earlier stage of fit-up.

Thank you for sharing. Very nice project.

Just the underside and interior so I can assemble the car

I want to get the car running and sorted out before I paint the outside of the body - don't want to bang it up. Couldn't quite finish the engine compartment before I ran out of activator.

I'm doing an exterior respray on a 2000 camaro ss, I normally use chromabase basecoat but if I can I'd rather use spi base as I've had great experiences with it. Can anyone advise me if this is anywhere close to being the same red as the 2000 gm bright red 8774 ?. It looks very similar if not a little bit brighter.

We use to years ago make the bright red, the SPI is a shade difference (hair lighter).

SPI red on my 73 Corvette. I'm very happy with the color and the Universal clear. Thanks for your help Barry.

Holy shit that's RED!!! I like that a lot, looks awesome man!

The SPI Red is not a good or true picture taker because of the different light.
A couple of reasons is first the Pigment is one of only a rare few that changes a little after in sun for 10-30 minutes.
Second, there are no whites, black or blues added to help it cover and lower the cost.

That is true. My 68 Mustang Coupe and 67 Fairlane are SPI red and it is very hard to get a good photo to show the true color.
