Polar Accelerators

Is there a point that too much polar will make the clear brittle? This time of year I use a cap/3oz. When it gets cold I go up to 2 caps.

Barry, Since I will be buying another SATA for my clears, I will be buying the RP gun. Would you recommend me getting the RP gun with a 1.4 then? I thought you mentioned elsewhere that the 1.4 was a little better for spraying SPI's clears than the 1.3 Thanks, Lyle

also glad this post came back up as I was curious about the polar for the clears, myself.

I love the polar. I use it year round. Yesterday it was 35 deg. and windy. Mixed 3oz of universal with fast and medium activator 75%/25% and used a cap of polar. I parked the car after about 30-45 min. Average panel temp was around 60.

Ok, I don't quite remember how much polar accelerator Barry told me I could add to one quart of sprayable Universal Clear. I am currently using one capful, but at times it just doesn't seem to be enough yet, when it comes time to try to get on it and buff. How much would be safe in a quart of mixed Universal? I need to up the polar accelerator.

JMHO, it's always better to add more heat than to add more Polar because Polar can't remove solvent from the film, and heat can.

From my experience, ~6% is the upper end, or 2oz. per sprayable quart.

Last week my paint rep finally talked me into letting him demo p30 primer and hpc15 and it worked like he said. You can sand the p30 in 15min and buff the hpc15 in 15min but buffing after 2 hours is a different story. I think the clear is too hard it might hold up but for the price I can come up with too many more options. I want to try the euro with polar, for the price difference I can see why he hasn't sold but 2 gallons in a year.

Anything that kicks that quick scares me, but maybe that's just me.
