99% of the time streaks are from not enough overlap or tilting the gun. Or both

And over applied. People tend to spray far wetter on horizontal surfaces like hoods. This over applied wet bed allows the metallic to move around orient differently in the center of the pattern rather than the edge of the pattern.

Thanks for the info Chris. I'll do the search for using a blender. I do think I just need to pay attention to the overlap and angle a little more. It really isn't that noticeable. I guess if the whole car looks like the test piece, I would still be happy.

How long do I have to wait to apply tape if I just put down a coat of unreduced SPI epoxy? I was planning on waiting overnight and then tape off the outside to put base in the jambs, wait another day and then clear them (UV clear - 2 coats). For my hood, trunk, and doors I was planning on setting the ”non jamb side“ in the sun for a day so I can flip these over and paint the undersides. Does this all make sense (first time ever doing a whole car and probably could not have gotten this far without this forum)?
