Painting car batteries

Looking to paint some car batteries. Was thinking just scuff and spray epoxy then base coat clear coat. Is plastic adhesion promoter necessary?

These things will be in the trunk of a car. Not like its a bumper or mirror out in the elements

Shave off a sliver of the battery case (somewhere inconspicuous) and see if it floats on water. Then remember the saying: “If it’s a floater it needs promoter”.

guaranteed to need adhesion promoter. the cases will be made out of most likely pp or something similar to be chemical and acid resistant.

Not sure. They are acid batteries. 1000 cca. Used for hydraulics on cars..groupe 31
