Paint Stripper wanted!

this all reminds me of saw chain. if they come up with a chain that cant cut you, what good is it? thats where a lot things are headed, safe but useless.
Check out this cool video of a table saw stop before cutting a finger (hotdog). Now if something like this for a chainsaw we could keep our extremities :)

meh, i still have all my extremitys after 34 years of almost daily chain saw use. now i got plenty of authritus too!

I have used some Blue Bear brand paint stripper that works surprisingly well. The local ACE discontinued it and I bought the remaining case. I haven't used it on any 2k products, only industrial oil alkyd paints. It strips paint and filler effortlessly and will not corrode the base metal. I will post the actual product name and part number when I remember.

Dead end for me. Local Napa only has NON methylene chloride.

NAPA's stripper is made by Klean Strip. The one with methylene chloride is #GAR343. If you look at the Klean Strip website, that product has been discontinued. Anything still out there would be remaining stock.

In the description of the Pen Strip NPX, it mentions that it is methylene chloride and that it has an acid activator in it. Back at one time, NAPA's stripper was methylene chloride and you could use it as is or they also had an additive you could add which was an acid IIRC. I used it back then to strip an old VW bug and with the additive it was like it was supercharged compared to the straight product. If the Pen Strip is a similar mix it should really get the job done.

Every time I see this thread title come up, I laugh and think it is a request for "shop entertainment." Lord forgive me . . .
