Not sure what primer to use after Epoxy

The goal this year is to get my car is either SPI 2k High Build, Slick Sand or Feather Fill. With a chance of actually spraying the BC/CC.

On one hand I like the idea of using Slick Sand or Feather Fill due to its high build per sprayed coat. On the other hand, I like the idea of using all SPI products so I know there is no compatibility issues. I know your not here to look at the car but, from my amateur beginner opinion, it looks pretty straight to me. I used guide coat thru out my epoxy and filler applications. Maybe it comes down to a cost issue of applying one coat of Slick Sand or Feather Fill vs multiple coats of 2k High Build. Cost is not really the issue here, just used it as an example.

Any and all guidance appreciated.

Mike,

Personally I think high build is easier to sand and work with as a beginner but keep in mind it needs to be pretty straight before using it cause it’s not designed to have filler paced over it in large amounts

I’m not a pro like some guys on here but here is my experience. When I did my first solo restoration about 8 years ago I wanted to only use SPI products and used SPI epoxy, 2k primers, and universal clear. On my current project I wanted to try Slick Sand and have really enjoyed it. The extra build it provides has been nice because I can use coarse grits to flatten the panel and not worry about accidentally sanding through my epoxy to metal. Plus if I find a low when blocking that I don’t think I can flatten with more primer I can apply filler over the Slick sand after prepping that area for the filler.
