What do you guys recommend for fixing a cracked panel
on one of the newer non-fiberglass Corvette body panels.
I have a qtr panel that has a crack about 6" long.

Not sure if AAE meant urethane supply company, which has info & products for many types of plastic bumpers. Hot air welding with ribbons or donor material worked out great for me on the teo plastic used in 2010 up Camaro bumpers.
What year of vette.? Not sure which type of plastic they use. Adhesives may work well for just a crack, but where suitable , welding plastic can be far superior in strength.. For any plastic repair, you loose some of the molecular crosslink of the original product, so extra thickness or other reinforcements on the backside are usually appropriate.

Is it a a C5 or C6? Most of the panels on those are SMC (sheet molded compound) which is NOT urethane or plastic weldable, SMC is repaired much like you would fiberglass but you need to use resin made for SMC. V-groove the crack and use resin and fiberglass mat is one way. I've used UPOL"s SMC carbon fiber filler (P.N.0779) with good results as well. It has carbon fiber in the mix which give it some structural strength. I've repaired cracked rockers. 1/4's with that stuff and it works nicely. Less messy than resin and sands really nice.

Urethane Supply changed their name to Polyvance this year.
