"New" tools

Got a message Monday night from a buddy whose father is a retired body man. His dad was looking to sell some of his tools, and I was happy to give them a new lease on life. Picked these up yesterday, a bumper puller, body hammers, vise grips, dollys, rivet kit, and some w/d paper. Some of these I didn't have, so pretty stoked. Even a Herbrand VL-540 valve lifter...

Touching up the hammer faces to remove some of the nicks....

Picked up the Ball Peen that he had so I could make a hammer for better flattening tucks for shrinking

Nice score Robert. I see a Snap-On 618 among the other Snap-On hammers. I think Snap-On discontinued them last year. Anytime you can get some Petersen vise grips is a good thing as well. Interesting that you put the flattened area on top, I remember Peter putting it on the bottom. Any particular reason for doing like you did?

Chris doesn't miss a thing. :D More than anything, I ground that side because it was easier. I think this one will work fine until you need it inside a concave dish, convex would be fine. Or work from outside the tuck toward center. In the end I'll have two of these, one of each flavor..

Sometimes I flatten tucks from the outside in, sometimes from the inside out so I ahve two ball peens - one shaped on the top like yours and one shaped on the bottom like Peter prefers.
