new spi clear & prolite

cutthroatxxx

First off fellas hotrodders.com is the 1st site I had ever joined & there how I learned of spi & the friendly staff so as I posted this same.topic there this morning it hit me duh...they have there own forum so yes this is a double post.I hope it offends noone that I did so&I.apoligize for the headache my ignorance of grammar & punctuation will bring you....
So Im setting up to do a really slick paint job & hoping I can get awag without cut&buff so hered what's going.onIm gonna be using 1 of my flg4s for primer only& 1 for base only & a new tekna prolite only for clear, prolite is brand new so I'll shoot a few panels to dial it in.I usually shoot cheap summit high solids with a 1.3 on my flg4 &
Reduced right I get descent results factory op.
But now Im gonna use s.p.i. I've used there primer&after reading all you guy's praise this stuff I decided to give it a shot. Now I didnt speak to barry it was another fella who was very helpful he got me set up with universal.clear he said I can use the 1.3 or 1.4 & ita almost impossible to get a run with it,I had told him how I normally reduce & he said I wont need to but gave me a good deal on reducer incase I wanna use it.I know alot.of guys feel.reducer in clear is a bandage but thats how I get my best results without cut & buff...opinions?
He also said he has never heard of the teknas so Ill try barry but I need your guys help as this is my goto site.
So can anyone tell me what tip & cap to use with this the te10.or.te20& @ what psi.trigger pulled? Also.Im using a 60 gallon puma comp 3/8.hose & I need someone to recommend some better fittings.Anyways that's it.Thanks in advance guys.

Please excuse any typos or terseness: this email was sent from my mobile and I have clumsy fingers.

Glad your here.
I have experience with people using the Tekna 1.4 and it works very well from what i hear, the 1.3 may or may not work as some 1.3's do and some 1.3's don't depending on the gun.
Worth a try!!! Set fan 90% wide open and the fluid out 3 full turns, air pressure with trigger pulled, I would look at 22-26 lbs being a 1.3. I can say for fact with that gun, the air regulator at wall needs to be 125 or higher for right scfms and hold gun 5-6 inches from panel.
I don't know the cap numbers to help there, sorry.

Thank ya sir,its the tekna prolite Idk if that makes a diffrence or not It was between this set up,the lpb400 or sate 3000 but I like sticking with brands.I shot some of your epoxy primer on a fellas car awhile back it layed so nice he opted to just run.it.instead of the hotrod flats we were gonna use for top coat.
I called you when I had a problem & you got me through it.Thanks.Anyways the nice fella who answers suggested the 1.4 I do have a 1.4 so I can swing that if I get this stuff to lay as good as Ive been told without reducer youll be sending me a couple gallons a month.Well Im long winded soon as everything gets here Ill let ya know how the test panel turns out

Great and remember, if you have a problem, just call me with gun in hand.

I might have to try a set of those Milton V styles. We can get Milton through our business, should be worth a shot.

didn't see this earlier or was half asleep when I did.Sorry & thanks Barry I will be calling soon as I open the shop today.
