The call just had (logan answered)
"I shot diamont base, waited three hours, and shot a first coat of clear and clear looked like I sprayed on wax paper???"

My answer to Logan was one of three things only.
# He cleaned the base with wax and grease remover.
# he used fisheye in the base.
# or air contaminations.

The answer, fisheye eliminator in the base.
He's stripping the base now.

One of the worst jobs ever saw a jobber in MS had a shop call where they sprayed a black Lexus all over and next day clear coming off in sheets when they tried to buff.

As soon as I saw it, the base looked like it was a single-stage.
I said base has fisheye in it, and he said 10%by volume.

do they even make that stuff anymore lol? i havent seen fisheye eliminator in prob 15-20 years. stuff is bad news no matter what you put it in. your just spraying silicone all around your booth and shop contaminating everything.

Back in acrylic enamel days, I think every painter put pump to a quart as it made the paint lay better.

Once you used it, you didn't have much choice. I remember one painter that put 2 pumps of Smoothie and a cap of flex additive in every cup of enamel. The paint would feel greasy after it dried.
