Need suggestions for a color

S

Senile Old Fart

I think the wife has finally decided what color she wants the 65 Mustang.
First it was white, so I bought a couple gallons of white SPI base.
Now that it is getting close to needing some areas painted she thinks that it should be a gun metal gray metallic.
I like the color in general, but do not like some of the hues it can have in the sun. An example is 71 Corvette Steel Cities Gray. It darn near looks green at times.
I like the gmg on the 2011 Dodge.
What other gmg's are stunning ?
Chad, you gonna be mixing this up, what do you think?

thanks guys, SOF

Have you shown her the blue Jeremyb sprayed on that 69 Mach 1?
I know if I had to let my wife pick a color I'd be spraying samples on everything and waiting for two year for her to decide. LOL

To give you an idea how long has it been already, when did Barry sell white base coat? LOL

What color is the interior? If you are going to replace the interior, then I think the deluxe (pony) two tone is hard to beat. My daughter still has her first car, a 66 Mustang GT coupe, I got for her in 1987. Someone had painted it white when I got it, with black vinyl top and black GT stripes, but she wants it painted the original Sauterne green, which is light green metallic. It had black standard interior, but I have collected everything for it already, including the light green and white pony interior and white vinyl top. I'm also doing the GT stripes in white. She wants a girls muscle car. Its from California, and still rust free. I brought it home in the spring of the year, and when winter came, I wouldn't let her drive it. Then had to get her a little honda civic for winters------talk about daddy's little girl. LOL But she has taken good care of it.

If you decide to redo the interior, make sure you get new foam for the seats. It not only feels better, but it shows also.

The interior is black leather.
I never knew that there was a GT coupe, I learn something new everyday!

There were quite a few GTs, but only a few Shelby GTs. The production GTs came as coupe, fastback, or conv. 289 4V, front disc brakes, fog lights, Gt stripe, and valence exit exhaust chrome trumpets.

Cool! I must have never paid enough attention.
Our 65 coupe will sort of be a GT, as the majority of the car from the core support to the trunk floor and everything between is a 2001 Mustang GT. The only 65 parts left on it is the grill, exterior sheet metal, bumpers and glass.
