Need epoxy approval

Hey guys. I plan on spraying my spi black epoxy in my engine bay of my 67 fastback this weekend. I just need someone to approve my check list.
: Engine bay has been sprayed in transtar epoxy primer last year and has been scuffed with 180 and red scuffpads.
: engine bay has been washed down and cleaned with w&g remover. ( I used prep all from clean strip)
: weather forecast shows 63-65 degrees all weekend with rain. The temp outside today is 63 and the same in my garage with no heat on. I have not tested metal temp yet but will tomorrow.
: I have a 60,000 but bullet heater to preheat the garage for a while tomorrow also 2 electric radiator heaters as well.
: I have never sprayed spi before and plan to spray unreduced with roughly 20psi with minor tinkering at the regulator and a 1.4 tip.
: I completely blew out my garage and planned on wetting the floor prior to spraying. Before I spray I will tack rag and use gun psi for final cleaning. As far as heat stability. I'm off all weekend so if I have to stay in this garage for 24hrs to maintain heat I will my car deserves it lol. Someone please look this over and let me know how this sounds. Also I see people recommend spraying one medium to slightly wet coat as the first coat. Is this correct or should I stick to the 2 or 3 wet coats being my car already has a primer base down on it. The thermometer shows 60degrees and 70% humidity Thank you everyone

If you plan on spraying tomorrow you should heat tonight in order to get everything up to temp, heating in advance also tells you if your heating plan will work before you spray product. In addition to metal temp you need to pay close attention to product temp as well, product temp is just as important as metal temp, both part A and B need to be above 65 as a minimum before they are sprayed. I personally like to set 70 degrees as my own personal minimum, its just better to be on the safer side of things than cutting everything close.

Id also be inclined to recommend cleaning with SPI 700-1 Wax and Grease remover and ditching the clean strip.

Given the temp concerns, along with rain, and lack of 700 W&G remover I would wait for warmer weather and in the mean time order different W&G remover.

These are all based on my limited experience.

The heaters are on in the garage now. I dont think I will have a problem with maintaining temp. As far as the w&g remover does the spi stuff really make that much of a difference? I understand stick with the system but I just thought as long as the cleaning cloths are comming off clean after wiping, it was just a matter of waiting until it is completely dry? Sorry rookie questions

I never used the clean strip prep but it appears to be a blend designed to do the W&G cleaning job. I wouldn't sweat that. That is better than using any old brand of naphtha from the hardware store.
If the 20 psi at the gun doesn't atomize well, (I have no idea what gun), bump the pressure up. Try to avoid heavy spots on the first coat because that may cause the epoxy to crater, looks like fish eye but it's not. Give it plenty of flash time , about 30 mins. should be OK at 70 degrees. Second coat is more forgiving with the cratering thing. Two coats should do it but that's up to you.

Great thanks a ton. I heard about the cratering issue some people were having thinking it was fish eyes. I plan to spray on Sunday so tomorrow will be a day of temp testing and monitoring, also more cleaning as well just to be safe
