I sprayed a trunk lid today Maroon metallic and my gun shot heavy on the bottom side and so it striped the lid, Can I go out tomorrow and respray over it or do I need to sand? I appreciate you guys a lot and thanks in advance for correct procedure!

Generally striping is caused by tipping the gun slightly. Usually happens when stretching to reach the center of a hood or trunk lid.
Yes you can respray just be careful to maintain proper distance and speed while keeping the gun perpendicular to the surface. Might want to spray in the opposite direction as last time. i.e. if you went length wise last time go cross ways this time.

Some painters seem to get away with it, and as shown in these pictures it really gets difficult when you're stretched out. Maybe the pro's have a way to better know the angle of the gun on horizontal panels, but it seems to help me if I extend my index finger, and use the middle and ring fingers on the trigger, then use 75% overlap with a little faster speed when spraying the horizontal panels.

Many years ago when Iwata released the LS400 Super Nova they had a video demo of that gun at the Sema Show, and the demo guy was holding the gun with his index finger extended. There was nothing said about it, but at the time I was having a problem with striping and picked up on that.

I stole these pictures off the internet.

As 68 said, most of the time it is from tipping the gun trying to reach the middle. Just make sure the gun has a nice pattern before spraying a panel. Every once in a while you can get a small blockage in the fluid tip or cap that causes an uneven pattern.

Okay guys thanks to all your advice I went and sprayed with my Sharpe Razor and all is well now, I was trying out a Mac Tools gun and it did'nt suite me too well. I really appreciate you guys more than you know, Most all that I know I have learned here!
