need a little advise before spraying cab

Hey all, I Finally have my 57 chevy truck ready to spray. But I need some advise on how I should spray it. these cabs has the door seals on the doors and not the cab. It will be sprayed in black bc and 5-6 coats of universal clear. I am hesitant in spraying the the interior and exterior of the cab itself ,all at the same time for I know I would bump into a door jamb or catch a rocker with the hose or my leg form getting in and out so much. So my question is can I put soft edge tape on the corner edge all along the door opening (highlighted in red for example) mask off the interior and spray the exterior, then come back and hit with 1000 grit along the area and then apply more soft edge tape and mask off the exterior and the spray the interior , then unmask and wet sand the area and buff? is there a easier way. I also thought of blending solvent but have never attempted before.

heres is a youtube video of the exterior all finished up as well

Personally I would do the interior first, giving it plenty of time to cure before taping up the interior and spraying the exterior. I would backmask at the edge of the door openings inside of the jambs. Backmasking or backtaping is simply taping on the back edge of something like leaving some of the tape exposed. 1 1/2 or 2" tape is needed. In your pic I would backtape at the inside edge of the door jamb on the interior panel.
If you do it this way mask off the exterior when you do the interior, so that you don't get overspray on the exterior that you would then have to sand.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm going to be doing something similar. I'm going to paint my jambs, inside of doors, under my hood, decklid, the gutter area that surrounds the deck lid underneath it and the areas of my fenders that will be under my hood. Would it be best to use some of the soft edge tape along with regular masking tape to keep from creating a paint edge when painting these places and also when painting the exterior? Should I mask right in the middle of the bend in the steel? Should the two coats of paint overlap and if so how much. If anybody has some pictures doing this please post them.

Something like this tape: https://www.ebay.com/itm/194175549810?epid=1522092089&hash=item2d35c3c172:g:S1UAAOSwL~RgtkCP

Your truck is looking really good slammed 57.

Thank you TK. That's a video that I probably never would have found.

It shows him masking the jamb at around 7:45 but not the door. Does the door need to be masked too or will it be ok without the mask as long as I spray straight on?
