My Son's projects

Hey all,
Been teaching my 14 YO son some paint skills over his summer vacation. He had been spraying skateboards with spray cans and wanted to step up using BC/CC materials and equipment. Figured I'd post some of his work as inspiration to those who might be doubting the possibility of doing their own body and paint.
Here's a couple of his boards. BTW he did all the work from raw wood to clearcoat. He also made the decals shown by grabbing the bitmap off the web, doctoring them in Photoshop, printing them on clear decal stock and applying them over basecoat and burying them in clearcoat. All clear/primers are SPI.

The board to the left was made to look like carbon fiber (black base over silver base). The other board was made to look retro. He also painted his minibike fenders and tank to match.
Here is the rear fender (body work, SPI epoxy, 2k primer, SW base in Cameo white) taped off for two tone

After paint and clear using Teckna Quickclean

Here is the tank (body work, SPI epoxy, 2k primer, SW base in Cameo white and '57 GM Turquoise) with Harley decals he printed applied. This is still in basecoat awaiting clear.

Another shot of fender and another project board he made to order.

He must be an old soul as he showed me this pick and wanted to mimic the look on his project..

Finally short :)30) of the tank. I was floored by the finish. First time using the teckna. Clear is SPI Euro
might be a jumpy vid and slightly out of proportion.

Thanks

Dude, Did he signed them? He'll have his own line by the time hits high school.:D

My Son said to say thanks for him. I thank you all as well.
He and I wanted to ask Form406 about his MC tank flames. I've done my share of painting in my day BUT I'm not an artist by any means and my son wants to try to add airbrushing to his work. He'd probably start out with template stuff. He is more artistic at 14 than I'll ever be. I do have an older Passche VLS airbrush he can use but was hoping Form406 or someone in the know could point him(us) in the right direction regarding frisket, stencils, liquid mask etc.. I realize it's a huge topic but get us rolling if you will.
Thanks,|
Dave and Don

Nice work...definitely has an artistic eye. Painting itself can be difficult, then add graphics it gets really tricky. Fantastic job
