middle aged crazy

Leave it in place for too long, and flat spots can appear.
I use to put mine on a milk crate in the off season to take the weight off, they make stands for that now. Do the same still with a trailer parked outside except its on jack stands and covers on all 4 tires.

Unrelated but I bought a set of wheels and tires a guy had stored in his closet since 1992. In 2016. The tires were brand new , I put them in my car one day I took it for a ride and had a blow out, ripped up some rocker moldings and put a nice dent in the fender. Never again

The biggest issue wth M/C tires is traction. Once they get old and hard, they no longer grip in the curves like a new tire. Just be careful and stay safe.

john , i'm 71 and ride like i did when i was 30 . slow and cautious . never put one down , never let myself get in that position. i ride to enjoy not get there. i ride country roads and service roads . all that going fast and slamming curves never was my thing. if it's got 4 wheels or more it's out to kill you .

doing forward control extensions today . damn harley and their soft metal torq bolts. going to have to drill all 6 probably.

got the extensions done . took heat to get the locktite they used to release. feels much better . now if it will warm up some i can go for a ride and hell no i dont ride in cold weather. had enough of that when i was younger and only had a bike.

I hear ya. Took a two hour ride on Thursday with temps in the low 50s.
Two shirts, a heavy Fox Creek leather jacket and chaps, winter gloves and it was just tolerable. Guess I got spoiled by all the nice weather rides.

Red and green locktite can be a bit%h sometimes!! I won't be doing much of anything for a while outside if I can help it, other than getting more wood for the fire. Last Thurs. it was -15 here, getting to a whopping 12 today...oh boy.

they use some grey stuff. impact would not budge them. little heat and they came out.
i've got 2 years' worth of firewood under the shed.

damn. left Monday am on a run to Tuson with a friend to pick up his new bike. 13 hrs out there. spent the night and loaded up wed morning and headed east. got in at midnight. too old for that crap anymore. but he scored a beautiful Moto Guzi 1400 California . exact bike he searched for for a couple of years before giving up and buying his Harley.

i must say it was a shock. been 45 years since i made that trip to the coast. made me appreciate Texas even more.

right at 2k miles . i got in at midnight . my butt showed up thurs morning :) crazy amount of traffic. especially in the west texas oil fields. must have been shift change on the rigs. once we got to Abilene it cleared out some so we could hammer down. think our road trips are over for a while and no more overnighters.

You're near Dallas right?

What I wouldn't give to ride again.... But I was a delinquent on sport bikes for years and one lousy accident spooked my wife(fiance at the time) and this conversation to get another one wouldn't go over well with her....
