I am pretty much out of everything and a good friend said he tried this line and had great results. Anyone on here use this line?

I am using FG400 with a long throw DA buffer and it easily takes out 1500 grit. If you keep at it a little longer it leaves the finish so nice no additional polishing seems necessary.

I use the 400 and 3800, bust stuff I've used to date.
Very true Dan, the 400 buffs up so good you almost don't need the second step.

I use Jescar which is sold out of the Menzerna USA office in NY. I don't know how they get away with selling a competing product, but the Jescar heavy cut compound (wool pad) and microfinishing polish (black foam pad) works great.

the menzerna 300 is good stuff but the 3d aca500 is better. leaves the same high gloss finish as the 300 but it cuts faster. the sonax cutmax and the 300 i found to cut about equal and give the same results. the sonax is a little more watery and slightly cleaner so that always took 2nd place for me. cant go wrong with any of those 3 but if i had to recommend one it would be the 3d..no question

Jim C what do you do / use for swirl remover? I have been using the 3M step#2 ex for years with black foam pad and ok but a lot of fillers in it.

I was using the same thing. I always liked it. I didnt find much coming back on me using it. It was always the ex compound that got me with the fillers. I have switched though to the 3d aca 520 polish. That stuff is very good as well

Cant remember if I have 300 or 400, I think 300. One thing that's a con and benefit at the same time is it dusts quite a bit compared to some of the others I've used. I kind of like it though as the pad cleans easier, I mainly use it with wool and it doesn't cake hardly at all, if it does it's pretty easy to clean.

Ive used the 3800 too and found it to be pretty good as well.

This week I experimented with sonax cut max on a wool pad. Dewalt rotary. About 1800 rpm. About a drop every square 8 inches or so. Followed by the same process with a white foam pad. (Don't know if it was even needed). Wax n grease remover. Detail spray. Then menzerna 3800 on black foam pad. . .im sold. Done deal. This stuff is like crack in a bottle. I just ordered a small bottle of the 3d 500 referred by texasking. To play with next.

Might as well add SONAX Ultimate Cut to the list, their newest compound. Faster cut, longer working time and easier to clean up.

400, cuts great with wool to pretty much a finish gloss, then use it with a foam pad to finish if you must.

And, if anyone is wondering, the Jescar stuff is nothing like the FG400. In my opinion, not as much cut and sort of greasy base compared to Fg400. I’d say it is about 85% as good.

I bought some because they were out of the menzurna and I thought it might be the same stuff, private labeled in a different bottle. They are not.
