Masking Tape Shelf life

I was wondering how long masking tape can be stored before it degrades and loses adhesion? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

I started storing my tape inside. Seems like the heat really kills it

yeah roosters right. what i had in the house was fine, tape in the shop was done. same batch.
