Hey all,
What are you folks using for lower ball joints today?..I ve been hearing nothing but "poor " quality parts are out there..Vehicle is 2000 F150..
For some reason i favor sealed vrs greasable...Ive had my battles with greasable joints.

So far, im looking at Moog "problem solver" (greasable), TRW (sealed, which may be Oem), and ive read some "okay/good" things about the Mevotech TTX line (greasable)..There is also Dorman products out there which seem to be fine.

Thanks in advance

i used to always go for moog since they were US made back in the day.........sadly the last time i got any they were not US made. so im not sure what brands are good now days.

^^ I am/was too...Many folks are not saying nice things about Moog, f rom my current research

I don’t think Moog is made in USA any longer and quality has suffered.
im not sure any thing is made here any more Don. for example, i have not been able to find stock fuel pumps or water pumps for the small chryslers made here for years. even a milodon WP was made overseas. i am begrudgingly beginning to accept, i just have to use the best i can find and be ready to replace it again.

I took the recommendations from my favorite youtuber "South Main Auto" and I used Mevotech ball joints on both cars I replaced them on recently.

Thanks OJ...I am reading both great and terrible reviews on Mevotech..The TTX line catches my attention..

Bottom line, trying to keep this repair few and far between

I used the TTX line. When I was installing them, they look very well built.

**disclaimer - I dont really know what I'm looking at and all shiny new things look nice to me**

What about the dealer?
Sometimes they aren't that much more than the aftermarket stuff.
thats true. i havnt been long put new hubs on mom's scooby roo. oem wasnt much more than jobber price.
however, i do wonder who made the actual parts. parts like these are almost always outsourced.
most all the dodge stuff i ever took apart had timkin bearings. im not sure thats still the case now days.

I did not put much thought into OEM..Some folks say TRW made oem joints for Ford..I do know Oem,s fail at 70-73k miles almost on the dot

I used mevotech ttx when I rebuilt the front ends on both of these. I drive the f150 more than the expedition. The front end has held up nice for the past 50k miles or so. New timken hub assemblies on the f150 when I redid the front end. The lift and larger tires certainly can't be easy on the front end, but its held up so far.
