looking at a sata 5000 rp 1.3

I remember seeing a post here that a member bought a Sata from that seller you listed in the link and it was legit, I have only used my rp 5000 for clear but it is great at that.

im needing a good overall gun i learned on a sata and always lke them i found these for much cheaper. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PAINT-SPRAY-GUN-SATA-Jet-5000-B-RP-1-3-209643-SPRAYGUN-FOR-PAINTING-BODY-CAR/251796640723?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 are they legit? and can the rp be used for mettalic base coats such as silver if they are turned down? if so hows it do for base? if not ill probably go with an lph 400 ill probably have to get used to its slow spraying though.

With the new SATA X 5500 coming, either the 5000 may go lower in price or wait for the new 5500 and you may get a better gun.

I also have that 5000 RP, 1.3 and definitely legitimate. I only use it for clear. Some of us here who bought that gun with a 1.3 nozzle determined that the nozzle is actually larger. A little bit bigger than 1.5MM if I remember the posts. I think for base coat you might be safer to use a true 1.3 nozzle.
I never used one but I hear the Sata HVLP's are better for base coat.

I still use an older Sata 2000 HVLP for base. I think the 1.2 nozzle in the RP would work nicely with base. The RP atomizes very well so even the 1.3 may work ok. Main drawback is you will use more material if you Base with a RP. That same seller has the 1.2 needle/nozzle set for something like 170 bucks.
