LED lights for booth?

get rid of the ballast. i bought cheaper ones off ebay. only 2 have gone bad in several years.
with florescent you don't know how bad they are. happens slowly over time.
i clean the bulbs when i clean the booth. clear doesn't seem to effect them.
the funny thing is, the type A seems to be cheaper than type B.....
thanks sir. home depot seems to be about the best price around for 25 bulbs, 5k

brightness is lumens. The K (Kelvin) number is color. The higher the number the whiter/bluer the color. 6000-6500k is daylight, which is closest to the color of daylight.
gotcha, the 5k would be minimum, 6500 is better. i do find it strange that HD will ship for free........but hey it saves me from driving 50 miles.

other than the fact that the ballast will one day crap out, what is the drawback of leaving it? the bulbs for that are cheaper.........idk why but they are.

Anyone use those 2x4 flat panel LED lights?
Yes. I have an office style dropped ceiling and the panels drop in and work great for me. Can see a few of the in this pic.

I ordered a few different ones from amazon to compare, you know, like a woman ordering a dress for a wedding, then return it after the wedding.:p But I ended up getting these from Prime Lighting because I thought they were better than the other ones. More expensive than most, but a lot cheaper then professional booth lights.
3500-6500K (color), dimmable, 5500 lumens, CRL 83+. It says drop in, but they do have 4 hooks for chain suspension I suspect. I built a frame work for mine because I wanted to mount them in the ceiling corners.

Damn, this thread hits hard. I still got the old 8ft t8 fluorescents. And I just had a ballast crap out and I’ve got another fixture flickering. I can’t stand them. I’ve heard mixed opinions about converting them to led though being 8ft, saggy bulbs, etc.

yeah they do sag a little. strap in the middle and your golden. i bought cheap ones off ebay. only 2 out 32 went south.
i thought i was going blind. my old ones were just dim as hell. the led will work until it doesn't. instant death.

So they’re fine with the middle strap then? Maybe then I’d be happy with my light output. I was planning on all new fixtures and I was going to add extra. But it was going to be $$$.

mine are 8' but broke in the middle so they take four 4' bulbs. i hate 8' bulbs, just transporting and storing them is a pain. and dummys are like little kids, dont give them any thing 8' long, they will certainly break it.

I bought a set of 10 for my shop off TEMU, 8' LED's. Only have 4 up so far and they're bright as hell. Temu vs Amazon prices seem to be pretty similar.

i have always been afraid of temu...........always thought it was scam. maybe not......
Nah, it’s basically like the Amazon of Harbor Freight. Just do it from the website not their app. It sounds like the sketchy stuff is with the app.

Temu definitely has some gimmicks. I was a little reluctant at first too but after some research I felt better. They do have shipping guarantees so if you don’t receive it in a certain time then something happens. I got my order of lights pretty fast and they’re pretty nice. I’d buy more stuff there.

Yeah unfortunately my fixtures take 2 8ft t8’s. They’re not the 4 4ft bulb variant. I agree those are easier to deal with all around.
